BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said on Saturday that Tarique Rahman, the party's acting chairman, will return to the country as soon as all preparations are completed.

"The BNP will participate in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, led by Tarique Rahman. We can say that he will return soon. "His home and office are ready," he told a press conference at a Dhaka city hotel.

Khasru stated that the plans for his return have been finalised by him and the party. Tarique Rahman may return at any time, he added.

On whether Dr Zubaida Rahman will enter politics, Khasru stated, "It is her personal decision." She can provide a better response. But we know Tarique Rahman is in charge of the BNP. He will return home to lead the election.

"If we receive public support and form the next government, the cabinet will be formed under his leadership, and the country will progress," stated the BNP's senior leader.

In response to questions from journalists about BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia being taken abroad by air ambulance, he stated, "The medical board will decide whether Khaleda Zia will travel abroad. The doctors are discussing the matter and will make decisions based on the circumstances, he said.

Regarding the upcoming election, he stated, "The sooner an elected government takes power, the better the country will be.

People are undecided in the absence of an elected government. He stated that there is no other option for moving forward than to overcome this.

He stated that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, as well as party leaders and activists, have long sacrificed for the right of the people to vote.

When asked about the BNP's position on alliance nominations in the upcoming election, Khasru stated, "Discussions about the electoral alliance and seat arrangements have not yet been completed." Dialogue and discussion are essential components of democracy. "These will continue," he stated.

He went on to say, "There is no middle ground between winning and losing in elections." We are carefully deciding who should be nominated—inside or outside the party—so that they can win. We are working to complete the nomination process as soon as possible."
