Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, stated on Saturday that Sheikh Hasina, the former prime minister and death row inmate, served the interests of a neighbouring nation rather than Bangladesh.

Speaking at a women’s rally at the Shaheed Hossain Chowdhury High School grounds in Islamnagar under the Koiyarbill Union of Chakaria Upazila in Cox’s Bazar, he stated, “Her main goals in retaining power were to embezzle the country’s wealth and subjugate it to foreign influence."

According to Salahuddin, Hasina has never demonstrated true faith in or accountability for Bangladesh's existence or its citizens.

He claimed that the fascist rule of the Awami League government had denied the people of Bangladesh the right to vote and democratic freedoms for 16–17 long years.

He added that despite the country's ostensibly democratic and constitutional system, Sheikh Hasina had actually imposed one-party rule.

He claimed that Sheikh Hasina had no faith in Bangladesh's sovereignty. "Therefore, I find myself wondering why people still back the Awami League after their leader and other leaders fled to India."

Bangladesh will be rebuilt in accordance with the expectations of its people and martyrs, according to Salahuddin.

He declared, "Women will be well represented in this nation."

Regarding the forthcoming national election in February, the BNP leader expressed the hope that the results would garner international attention and recognition.

"Voters will protect their own ballots; no one else will be required. Change is going to start with this election," he said.

Among those in attendance were former Member of Parliament Advocate Hasina Ahmed, General Secretary M Mobarak Ali, Advocate Shamim Ara Swapna of the Cox's Bazar district BNP, and President Enamul Haque of the Chakaria Upazila BNP.

Earlier, Salahuddin Ahmed spoke at multiple street rallies and ran an election campaign in the Chakaria unions of Fasiakhali, Kakara, Lakshyar Char, and Baraitoli.
