Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and a former lawmaker, described the announcement of the national election schedule as a positive step but noted that ensuring a free, fair, and acceptable election remains a major challenge.

He stated that the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will fully cooperate with the Election Commission to ensure a free, fair, and credible election.

Parwar made the remarks while speaking with journalists on Thursday afternoon, following a mass outreach programme in the district's Zero Point area.

Parwar, who is also the party's candidate for the Khulna-5 constituency, stated that a level playing field must be ensured so that all parties have equal opportunities throughout the election process.

"This responsibility falls on the administration. No official should be expected to support a particular candidate. "Equal opportunity for all must be guaranteed," he stated.

He also stated that once the election schedule is announced, all government officials fall under the jurisdiction of the Election Commission. "Therefore, no one should expect the administrative authorities to create opportunities for a specific candidate to win," he continued.

Parwar stated that the eight current participants in the 'PR and Five-Point' movement do not want confrontation or violence. "For the sake of the country and the nation, we want to extend complete cooperation to ensure an acceptable election," he stated.

Earlier, at noon, he held a viewpoint exchange meeting with brickfield owners and workers at Allahr Dan Bricks in Kulbaria, Dumuria upazila.

Abdul Latif Jamaddar chaired the meeting, and Abul Kalam Azad, chief adviser to the Brick Kiln Owners Association, also spoke.

Parwar also stated that the eight parties in the newly formed platform have agreed to support single consensus candidates in all 300 constituencies. "Top leaders will select the most familiar and winnable candidates for each position. Each area will have one candidate representing the combined Islamic parties. "This is our decision," he explained.

Earlier on Thursday morning, Parwar conducted another outreach programme in Kathaltala Bazar and spoke with teachers, students, and locals at Mathbaria Qaumi Madrasa.
