Khaleda Zia is more stable currently: Dr Zahid

Begum Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, AZM Zahid Hossain, said on Friday that her health is currently more stable than it has been in the past month.

“Begum Khaleda Zia is in a much more stable condition now than she was before, thanks to the medical board’s care and the endless generosity of Allah and everyone’s prayers. Currently, her condition has not worsened. Her physical state has remained steady for the past month thanks to the prayers of her fellow citizens and the grace of Almighty Allah,” he said. 

Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, personal physician to BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and a member of the BNP Standing Committee, made the statements during a press conference in front of the Evercare Hospital’s front gate on Friday evening.

“Begum Zia had a small operation on Friday as well. She was taken to the operating theatre, where the treatment was done satisfactorily. She was able to take it readily. Dr Zahid stated that she is currently being treated in a cabin with ICU amenities within the Critical Care Unit (CCU).

He expressed hope for Khaleda Zia’s recovery, saying, “May Allah grant her the strength to continue the treatment she is receiving under the medical board, which consists of domestic and foreign physicians.” During the briefing, Dr Zahid expressed gratitude to the countrymen and requested that everyone pray for Begum Khaleda Zia’s overall well-being.
