Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, said on Friday that the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and Dhaka-8 independent aspirant Sharif Osman Hadi has shocked the entire nation.
"The murder of Osman Hadi has shocked the entire nation. "BNP will go to pay respects to Hadi's body," he told reporters in front of the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan.
Salahuddin Ahmed also stated at the time that the 'failed fascist force' is active both inside and outside the country as part of a conspiracy to sabotage the election, aiming to obstruct democratic activities.
"The isolated attacks on media, cultural institutions, and some individuals across the country are the result of a deep conspiracy. These actions cannot obstruct democratic progress. "The election will still be held at the appropriate time," he stated.
The BNP leader also stated that the people of the country have identified those who intend to use Osman Hadi's murder for political gain.
Regarding the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Salahuddin stated, "The BNP is in consultation with the government regarding Tarique Rahman's return to the country. The government is co-operating with security measures. Tarique Rahman's reception will be held on December 25 in the city's 300 Feet area.
