The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has revised its list of candidates for three constituencies in Chattogram district ahead of the upcoming 13th parliamentary election.
According to party sources, the BNP has nominated Mohammad Aslam Chowdhury for Chattogram-4, Said Al Noman for Chattogram-10, and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury for Chattogram-11.
Earlier, on November 3rd, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had announced Kazi Mohammad Salauddin, former joint convener of the BNP’s Chattogram North district unit, as the party’s candidate for Chattogram-4. However, the party has now selected Mohammad Aslam Chowdhury, a member of the BNP chairperson’s advisory council, to contest the seat in what it described as the final phase of electoral preparation.
In a further adjustment, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP’s standing committee, has been shifted from Chattogram-10 to Chattogram-11. The party had previously left the Chattogram-11 seat vacant when the initial candidate list was announced.
Meanwhile, Said Al Noman, president of the Bangladesh Nationalist Jute Workers’ Party, has been nominated as the BNP candidate for Chattogram-10.
The changes reflect ongoing strategic decisions by the party as it prepares for the national polls.
