Zaima Rahman, granddaughter of the late BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, visited her grandmother’s grave along with other family members on Friday morning.
Zaima Rahman arrived at Zia Udyan around 10:30 am, accompanied by about 20 relatives. They offered prayers at the grave while remaining calm and composed throughout the visit.
Late Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife, Syeda Sharmila Rahman was present, among others.
Khaleda Zia was laid to rest on December 31 last year with full state honours beside the grave of her husband, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, at Zia Udyan in the capital. Her elder son, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, performed the burial rites in the presence of family members. Prior to the burial, the armed forces paid a Guard of Honour to the former Prime Minister.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia’s namaz-e-janaza was held at a large gathering at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building and Manik Mia Avenue.
