BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan on Monday said whoever comes to power by coming election will be responsible for implementing the Workers’ Manifesto.
Emphasising that working-class people are important to political parties, he said, “Whoever comes to power through the upcoming elections will bear the responsibility of implementing the Workers’ Manifesto.”
Nazrul Islam Khan made the remarks at a discussion meeting organised by an international labour organisation in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
Nazrul Islam Khan said the Workers’ Manifesto has been declared with the assistance of those who have worked long for the country’s labour movement and the interests of workers.
Highlighting that political parties represent the people, this senior BNP leader said that the working-class people constitute a large segment of population and in any consideration, they are important to political parties.
He further said, “We expect to get the cooperation of political parties in implementing the demands and aspirations expressed by workers in the manifesto. We, the politicians, will take the responsibility to ensure that working people find satisfaction for the sake of the people and the country.”
