BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to visit Rajshahi on Wednesday to attend an election rally.
The rally will be held at the historic Madrasa ground. He is also scheduled to address public rallies in Naogaon and Bogura.
A meeting regarding the rally was held on Sunday night at the residence of BNP Chairman’s Adviser Mizanur Rahman Minu in the city, where the date and time of the rally were finalised.
The matter was confirmed by BNP Rajshahi Divisional Organising Secretary Advocate Syed Shaheen Saikat.
He said Tarique Rahman will arrive in Rajshahi at 12:30 pm on Wednesday. He will then attend the public rally at the historic Rajshahi Madrasa ground, where he will introduce the candidates contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol for the upcoming parliamentary election. The BNP Chairman will also formally hand over the symbol to the candidates.
He added that later in the afternoon, Tarique Rahman will take part in another rally in Naogaon. After the Naogaon rally, he will depart for Bogura. This visit by Tarique Rahman is being viewed as highly significant.
