Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday said the party envisions a corruption-free and equal society that guarantees a secure future for citizens, including women and children.

Speaking at the inauguration of the party's main election office for Dhaka-15 and the launch of Jamaat's digital campaign 'Multimedia Bus' at the water tank area in Mirpur-10, he said, "Oppression and fascism had been imposed on the people of Bangladesh in the last 54 years."

"The physical landscape of the country may not change, but its character and vision must transform," he added.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman emphasised the party's commitment to creating job opportunities for the youth and building a united Bangladesh.

The Jamaat Ameer also pointed out the persistent violence in Mirpur and Kafrul areas, which have long been plagued by terror. "We pray to Allah that those who are capable of bringing peace to these areas are granted the power to do so," he added.
