Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar on Saturday said that if the 11-party alliance secures a majority in the upcoming election, it will work to build an inclusive society founded on communal harmony, equal justice and good governance.
“If the 11-party alliance wins the election, we will build a society where people of all religions - Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Buddhists - can live together with happiness, peace, and prosperity, enjoying equal justice and full rights,” he said.
Golam Parwar made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an election rally of Maulana Bilal Hossain Miajhi, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate and 11-party alliance nominee for the Chandpur-4 (Faridganj) constituency.
Calling on voters to cast their ballots in favour of the “Dari Palla” (scales) symbol and vote “yes” in the referendum, he said that if Jamaat-e-Islami is entrusted with the responsibility of forming the government, a humane and just Bangladesh would be built under the leadership of party Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman.
He claimed that the party has no allegations of corruption or partisan discrimination and reiterated its commitment to governance based on fairness and accountability.
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Chandpur District Unit and the alliance-nominated candidate Maulana Bilal Hossain Miajhi chaired the programme.
Others who addressed the rally included Jamaat-e-Islami Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Noakhali–Cumilla regional team member Professor Liyakat Ali Bhuiyan; Islami Chhatra Shibir Jagannath University President and JnUCSU Vice-President Md Riazul Islam; Islami Chhatra Shibir Jahangirnagar University Secretary and JUCSU General Secretary Md Mazharul Islam; Chandpur District Secretary Aminul Islam; District Assistant Secretary Principal Harunur Rashid; Faridganj Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Yunus Helal; and its Secretary Md Shakhawat Hossain, among others.
