Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman on Saturday said BNP has taken the country on a high tide of development every time when it came to power.
“I am a son of Bogura. I feel proud and happy to step in the soil of Bogura after long 17 years. It is impossible to explain the feeling of one’s roots in words. Dear people of Sherpur-Dhunat, every time BNP has come to power, it has taken the country on a high tide of development,” he said.
Tarique Rahman made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an election rally in favour of ‘Sheaf of Paddy (Dhaner Shish) in Sherpur Municipal Terminal of Bogura.
He said, “The soil of Bogura is a stronghold of BNP. Therefore, in the upcoming National Parliamentary Election on 12 February, the party-nominated candidate for Dhunat-Sherpur constituency Golam Mohammad Siraj must be elected with a huge margin of votes to showcase Bogura as a formidable stronghold of BNP.”
Speaking at the rally BNP candidate of Dhunat Golam Mohammad Siraj said, “After the election, InshaAllah, the BNP chairman will serve as the country’s Prime Minister.”
Tarique Rahman sought vote for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol saying make me victorious.
“If elected, the healthcare system will be improved, a flyover will be constructed in Sherpur, permanent embankments will be built in the river erosion areas of Dhunat, and the youth will be made self-reliant through the establishment of IT education institutions,” he added.
After concluding the programme, Tarique Rahman left for Sirajganj.
