National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and 11-party alliance-nominated candidate for Dhaka-11 constituency Nahid Islam exchange views with the families of the martyrs and injured fighters from the July Uprising and inquired about their well-being at a special gathering on Sunday.
During the meeting at a restaurant at Merul Badda in Dhaka, Nahid expressed his solidarity with the families, reaffirming the NCP's commitment to never forget the sacrifices made during the July Uprising.
Nahid Islam said, “The government, political parties and others have failed to stand beside the martyrs’ families and the injured fighters.”
He added, “I want to meet with the 800 families one by one and visit the graves of the martyrs. This government has largely failed, but we promise that we will never forget July.”
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Majlis-e-Shura Member Advocate Atiqur Rahman, among others, also addressed the view-exchange meeting.
