Zubaida Rahman leads relief drive for Bhashantek fire survivors

Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, on Saturday visited the Bhashantek area of Dhaka to stand by residents affected by a recent devastating fire.

She personally took part in relief activities to assist families who lost their homes, furniture and essential household items in the blaze. Many affected households have been plunged into severe hardship, and the relief efforts were aimed at meeting their immediate needs.

During her visit, Dr Rahman distributed essential relief materials among the fire victims and arranged a medical camp to provide healthcare services. Experienced physicians examined women, children and elderly residents, while necessary medicines were supplied to those requiring treatment.

The initiative brought much-needed relief and reassurance to the local community, with the combined efforts of relief distribution and medical support being widely viewed as a significant example of humanitarian assistance in the wake of an unexpected disaster.

BNP Chairman’s adviser and freedom fighter Abdus Salam, Dr Farhad Halim Donar, along with leaders and activists from various local levels, also took part in the relief activities.
