BNP Standing Committee Member and the party-nominated candidate for Cox’s Bazar-1 constituency Salahuddin Ahmed cast his ballot at the Pekua GMC Institute Polling Centre in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday morning, expressing optimism about the electoral process and the response from voters.

After voting, he spoke to journalists outside the centre and described the moment as deeply meaningful.

Salahuddin said he felt both emotional and grateful to once again participate in a national election, calling it a significant occasion for democracy.

“I am delighted to be able to cast my vote today. It is difficult to put my feelings into words,” he said.

Expressing hope for a favourable outcome, he added that he believes voters will support the “Sheaf of Paddy,” the electoral symbol of his party, with development and prosperity in mind.

The BNP leader also conveyed strong confidence in the people of his constituency, noting that they have consistently backed him in previous elections.

He said the bond between him and the residents of Cox’s Bazar-1 is built on trust and mutual respect.

“The people here have elected me multiple times. They have always stood by me with love and confidence, and I carry the same affection and responsibility for them,” he remarked.

Salahuddin further stated that he had waited 17 years for an election where voters could cast their ballots in what he described as a free and festive environment.

He expressed hope that the peaceful atmosphere would continue throughout the day.
