In the coastal stronghold of Bhola-1, Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partha has established a significant lead as unofficial results emerge from the majority of polling stations. Representing the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) under the BNP-led alliance, Partha appears to be consolidating his position in a race that has drawn intense national interest.

According to data confirmed by the Bhola Sadar Upazila Assistant Returning Officer, Md Arifuzzaman, results from 94 out of the 114 designated polling centers have been tabulated. Partha, campaigning under the ‘Bullock Cart’ symbol, has currently secured 83,222 votes. His performance reflects a robust turnout from his local support base in an election cycle defined by high stakes and transition.

Trailing in second place is Principal Nazrul Islam of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Running with the ‘Scales’ symbol, Islam has garnered 61,858 votes thus far. While the gap is notable, observers are closely monitoring the remaining 20 centre to see if the margin narrows. Meanwhile, the candidate for Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Md Obaidur Rahman, holds the third position with 17,980 votes under the ‘Hand Fan’ symbol.

The Bhola-1 constituency is one of the more significant electorates in the region, boasting a total of 405,567 registered voters. The logistics of the day involved 114 polling centre and 834 individual voting booths to accommodate the surge of citizens participating in the democratic process. While eight candidates initially vied for the seat, the contest has largely narrowed down to a three-way split between the BNP-allied BJP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and Islami Andolan.

Local officials have stressed that these figures remain unofficial until the final tally of all 114 centre is completed and verified by the Election Commission. However, the current trajectory suggests a strong mandate for Barrister Partha, a veteran politician known for his vocal presence in the country’s legal and political discourse.

As the counting enters its final stages into the night, the atmosphere in Bhola remains orderly. Security forces continue to maintain a presence around the remaining centre to ensure the integrity of the count as the nation awaits the final declaration for the island district.
