National Citizen Party (NCP) candidate Abdullah Al Amin has secured an unofficial victory in the Narayanganj-4 seat in the 13th parliamentary election, winning by a decisive margin.
According to the results, Advocate Abdullah Al Amin received 106,171 votes, defeating his closest rival, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh candidate Monir Hossain Qasemi, who secured 80,619 votes.
Speaking to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) after the announcement, Abdullah Al Amin described the outcome as a victory for the people.
“This victory is not mine; it belongs to people from all walks of life in this constituency. They have voted for change. I will honour the dignity of their love through my work, God willing,” he said.
The NCP joint member secretary also pledged to transform Narayanganj-4 into a safe and prosperous constituency, vowing to shed what he described as its past negative image.
“We will develop this constituency as a safe, prosperous and positive area. It will no longer be associated with negative branding or criminal influence. Terrorists, extortionists and drug dealers will find it difficult to operate here. Narayanganj will become a beautiful town for decent people,” he added.
The newly elected lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining law and order and advancing development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for residents of the constituency.
