Adviser to the BNP Chairman and Spokesperson of the party’s Election Steering Committee Mahdi Amin has described the party’s landslide win in the 13th Parliamentary Election as a victory not just for the BNP, but for the entire nation.
Speaking to journalists in front of the BNP Chairman’s office in Dhaka’s Gulshan, Mahdi Amin said, “After a long wait, the people have exercised their franchise, sending a historic message in favour of democracy.”
He emphasised that the triumph reflects the aspirations of the common people rather than the success of any individual or single party.
“This is the people’s victory, the victory of democracy,” he added.
Highlighting the decades-long struggle for democratic rights, Mahdi Amin credited the result to the sacrifices and efforts of countless activists and martyrs.
He expressed confidence that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, who led the party to this decisive win, will meet the high expectations of the citizens.
“Under Tarique Rahman’s leadership, a transparent, accountable, and people-centred government will be established,” he said.
Mahdi Amin further stressed that the new government will uphold Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty and democratic values, fulfilling the hopes of the nation and honouring the legacy of those who fought for democracy.
