BNP Standing Committee Member and Narsingdi-2 (Palash) MP Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan emphasised that the party prioritises public welfare over the pursuit of political power.
Speaking on Thursday as the chief guest at an Eid relief distribution event organised by Palash Upazila administration, Dr Moyeen Khan said, “Within just a month of taking office, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has begun fulfilling the promises made to you and has delivered Eid gifts directly to the people.”
He added, “Voters worked hard at the polling stations, and now they are witnessing the results. In the months ahead, the benefits will continue. Many development projects, including road construction, were started 17 years ago but remained unfinished. We are committed to restarting and completing those initiatives.”
Highlighting the government’s focus on marginalised communities, he said, “Our efforts are always directed toward underprivileged groups. The Bede community, often overlooked in society, is now receiving special attention through programs designed to improve their living standards.”
Dr Moyeen Khan further remarked, “Politics should serve the people. Our work gains meaning only when we stand with the citizens. During festivals like Eid, it is especially important that no one is left behind.”
As part of the Eid celebrations, relief packages from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund were distributed among disadvantaged families of the Bede community in Ghorashal Municipality, Palash Upazila. On the same day, financial aid was also provided to residents of the Shimulertek housing project within the cluster village.
Members of the Bede community expressed their happiness and gratitude upon receiving the gifts, marking a festive start to the Eid celebrations.
