The National Citizens Party (NCP) has formed a 53-member central convening committee for its associate organisation, Jatiya Nari Shakti, marking a new organisational step for the party’s women’s wing.
The committee was announced on Saturday through a press release approved under the directives of NCP Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhter Hossen.
According to the announcement, Monira Sharmin has been appointed as the convener of the newly formed committee, while Mahmuda Alam Mitu will serve as its member secretary.
The party also assigned several key leadership positions in the women’s wing. Sanzida Bushra Mishma has been named senior joint convener, and Nusrat Tabassum has been appointed as chief organiser.
The list of joint conveners includes Hafsa Jahan, Nabila Tasnid, Khandakar Khaleda Akter, Ashrefa Khatun and Muna Hafsa.
In the senior joint member secretary post, Manjila Jhuma has been selected. Meanwhile, Dyuti Arannya Chowdhury Preeti, Nahida Bushra, Kazi Ayesha Ahmed, Neela Afroz, Mahmuda Rimi and Israt Jahan Bindu have been appointed as joint member secretaries of the committee.
For organisational responsibilities, Ishrat Jahan, Ursi Mahfila, Sadia Afrin, Jayanti Biswas, Sonia Lubna, Nafisa Mushtari and Nadia Islam Mim have been appointed as joint chief organisers.
In addition, Rehnuma Ruma, Farzana Akter, Moni Mukta, Sejuti Akter, along with 30 other members, have been included as organisers in the newly formed committee.
Party sources said the formation of the committee is aimed at strengthening women’s participation and expanding organisational activities of the party at the grassroots level.
