Senior leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Political and Agricultural Adviser to the Prime Minister Nazrul Islam Khan has said that the BNP has gained the confidence and trust of the people, and its leaders must now work responsibly to meet public expectations.
He made the remarks while addressing a meeting of Upazila and Poura BNP leaders held at the Islampur Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Jamalpur on Saturday afternoon. The meeting was attended by party leaders and local representatives.
Nazrul Islam Khan noted that BNP secured victories in all five parliamentary constituencies in Jamalpur District, marking a significant electoral achievement for the party in the region since its formation. He said this result reflects strong public support and trust in BNP’s leadership and activities.
Emphasising political responsibility, he urged BNP members and leaders to remain committed to public service and ensure that the expectations of the people are properly addressed through their actions.
In addition to political matters, he highlighted the importance of agriculture in the national economy. He called for increased efforts to support farmers, encourage higher agricultural production, and ensure fair market prices for farm products so that farmers can achieve financial stability.
The meeting was chaired by MP AE Sultan Mahmud Babu.
Several other political leaders, including State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat, MPs Advocate Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun and Mostafizur Rahman Babul, and Jamalpur Zila Parishad Chairman Md Sirazul Haque, also spoke at the programme.
