The Bangladesh Nationalist Party has formally submitted its audited financial accounts for the 2025 calendar year to the Election Commission.
The official statement shows that the political organisation generated a total income of 22 crore 19 lakh 55 thousand 182 taka over the twelve-month period. Total operational spending reached 15 crore 26 lakh 10 thousand 857 taka, leaving the party with a clear surplus of 6 crore 93 lakh 54 thousand 325 taka.
A senior party delegation led by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi presented the formal audit report this afternoon. The delegation handed over the financial documents directly to Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhter Ahmed at the commission headquarters in Agargaon.
The visiting delegation also included party treasurer and state minister for civil aviation and tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat, alongside assistant office secretary Monir Hossain.
Speaking to journalists after the submission, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi confirmed that the disclosure covers all transactions from 1 January to 31 December 2025. The veteran leader noted that the party began the year with an opening bank balance of 21 crore 13 lakh 97 thousand 35 taka.
Following the annual financial activity, the total cash deposited across various banks increased to 28 crore 4 lakh 71 thousand 680 taka. This was supplemented by 2 lakh 79 thousand 700 taka held as cash on hand, bringing the final closing balance to 28 crore 7 lakh 51 thousand 360 taka.
The party explained that it sourced its revenue from several primary channels. These included membership fees from the executive committee, book sales, primary member registrations, the sale of election nomination forms, individual and corporate donations, and interest earned on bank deposits.
Outgoings spanned several key sectors during the year. Funds were allocated to charitable aid for individuals, relief distribution in flood-hit areas, printing promotional leaflets and posters, purchasing official vehicles, organising public rallies, renting halls for debates, publishing newspaper supplements, hosting Ramadan gatherings, and meeting general administrative costs.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi emphasised that filing these accounts before the annual 31 July deadline is vital for ensuring political transparency and maintaining accountability to the public. The statement was fully verified by the party auditor, supervised by the treasurer, and signed off by the party chairman and secretary general before delivery.
When asked by reporters about members of the rival Awami League contesting upcoming local government elections, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated that because the votes are not using official party symbols, the decision rests entirely with the Election Commission and the courts. The regulator will determine the eligibility of participants based on existing legal frameworks.
