In a letter sent to all sports federations and groups, the National Sports Council (NSC) asked national team players not to take part in any kind of election campaign.
On Monday, Aminul Ehsan, who is the Director of Sports for the NSC, signed the letter in this matter.
In the letter, the NSC said that national team players are an asset to the country and a sign of unity for all residents. It's not okay for sports and the images of players to be linked to any kind of political or electoral actions, or for them to be used to protect the neutrality and sanctity of sports.
The NSC said that some people or groups are trying to use players for political reasons in election campaigns before the next election. The group that oversees sports believes it goes against the rules and could damage the surroundings of the stadium.
The NSC has said that no national team player will be used in any way, either directly or indirectly, in the election campaign of any political group or to support any candidate.
It was also advised by the NSC that not following these rules could hurt the country's healthy sports environment. Everyone has been told to follow these rules.
