Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will face off for the first time outside of Britain next year during a pre-season tour in Sydney, officials announced Monday.

The London rivals have agreed to compete in the "Sydney Super Cup", with Chelsea taking on A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers and Tottenham facing Sydney FC.

They will then face off on August 1 at the Olympic Stadium, which has a capacity of 83,000.

"I've heard a lot about our passionate fans in Australia, and it's something the club is very proud of," said Tottenham manager Thomas Frank. "I can't wait to try that for myself."

Chelsea will also bring their women's team, led by Australian superstars Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter, to face a Women's A-League All-Stars side on August 12.

"The 2026 Sydney Super Cup is going to be a fantastic display of world-class football," said A-League CEO Stephen Conroy.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for international talent in our leagues to compete against world-class players."
