The Bangladesh women’s football team slipped eight steps down to 112th in the latest FIFA rankings that were published on Thursday.
Bangladesh women’s football has played four matches in the last three months, losing all four encounters. They lost two friendly matches in Thailand by 3-0 and 5-1 in the October window.
The Peter Butter side also lost 1-0 to Malaysia and 2-1 to Azerbaijan in the recently concluded tri-nation series held in Dhaka. The team’s dismal performance has affected the rankings.
Earlier, in the last FIFA ranking held in August, Bangladesh achieved their biggest progress, climbing 24 places from 128th to 104th following their historic qualification for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup for the first time ever after beating Myanmar on their home soil.
Meanwhile, Spain and the USA retained their top and second positions, respectively, in the latest FIFA rankings.
