Bangladesh will not accept any unreasonable conditions from the International Cricket Council (ICC) if influenced by the Indian Cricket Board, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul said on Tuesday.

Speaking at the Secretariat, Asif Nazrul emphasised that Bangladesh cannot be compelled to travel to India for the T20 World Cup under external pressure. “If the ICC yields to India’s pressure and imposes any illogical conditions on us, we will not accept them,” he stated.

Responding to a report by AFP suggesting Scotland could replace Bangladesh if the team refuses to play in India, the sports adviser clarified that no official communication has been received regarding such a decision.

He cited precedent in international cricket, noting that venues have been changed in the past when countries, including India, declined to play in certain locations. “We have reasonably requested a venue change,” he added.

Bangladesh recently informed the ICC that it would not travel to India for the tournament due to political tensions and requested their matches be relocated.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has rejected the ICC’s appeal to reconsider touring India for the T20 World Cup.

A final decision on Bangladesh’s participation and potential travel arrangements is expected by Wednesday, though the ICC has not yet specified how a replacement team would be selected if Bangladesh withdraws.

Tensions intensified after pacer Mustafizur Rahman was pulled from the IPL over security concerns, which were reportedly corroborated by the ICC’s own internal threat assessment.
