The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule for its upcoming board of directors’ election, confirming that the voting will take place on 7 June.

The schedule was issued on Saturday through a notification signed by Chief Election Commissioner Ahsanul Karim.

According to the announcement, a total of 23 directors will be elected from three categories. Of these, 10 directors will be elected from Category-1, 12 from Category-2, and one from Category-3.

The election process will begin with the publication of the draft voter list at 4pm on Sunday at the BCB office in Mirpur and on the board’s official website.

Objections to the draft list will be received on 18 May from 10am to 4pm. A hearing on those objections will be held on 19 May from 10am to 4pm, after which the final voter list will be published at 5pm the same day.

Candidates interested in contesting the election will be able to collect nomination papers from the Returning Officer’s room at the Mirpur BCB office on 20 and 21 May between 10am and 4pm. A non-refundable fee of Tk20,000 will be required.

The completed nomination forms must be submitted on 21 and 22 May between 11am and 5pm. Scrutiny of nomination papers and publication of the preliminary list will take place on 23 May.

Appeals regarding nomination scrutiny will be heard on 24 May. The appeal submission window will remain open from 10am to 1pm, with hearings scheduled from 2pm to 5pm on the same day.

Candidates will be able to withdraw nominations on 25 May between 10am and 12pm, after which the final list of candidates will be published at 2pm.

Voting will be conducted through postal and electronic ballot systems. Registered councillors must submit applications from their official email addresses to the designated email ([email protected]) by midnight on 25 May.

Postal ballots will be sent to voters’ addresses and e-ballots to registered email accounts between 1 and 6 June. All completed ballots must reach the BCB office or designated email by 1pm on 7 June, after which no submissions will be accepted.
