WASHINGTON,
US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the Israeli truce that began in Gaza on Friday would be maintained, stating both Israel and Hamas are “tired” of fighting.
”It will hold. I think it will hold. “They’re all tired of fighting,” Trump told reporters, confirming his plans to visit Israel and Egypt as a mediator this weekend.
Trump said he would meet with a “lot of leaders” in Egypt on Monday to discuss the future of Gaza, with the meeting most likely taking place in Cairo.
He also stated that he plans to address the Israeli parliament when he visits the nation earlier that day. Trump expressed confidence that the Gaza truce will lead to greater Middle East peace. ”Now we have some little hot spots, but they’re very small... They’ll be very easy to put out. Those fires are going to be put out very quickly,” he added
