TEHRAN,
Iran announced on Saturday that it will implement periodic water cuts in Tehran to curb consumption, as the country grapples with one of its worst droughts in decades.
“This will prevent waste, even if it causes some inconvenience,” Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi said on state television.
Local media reported that night-time water cuts have already begun in the capital, which is home to more than 10 million people.
