KYIV,
Russia’s overnight strikes on Kyiv province killed two people, Ukrainian authorities said on Monday after a countrywide air alert was issued.
One person was killed in the capital, according to Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the city’s military administration.
And in the neighbouring city of Fastiv, a man in his 70s also died, Mykola Kalashnyk, the Kyiv regional governor, said.
Russia has escalated its attacks on Ukraine as Kyiv and its allies seek to finalise a US-brokered plan to end Europe’s deadliest conflict since World War II.
