Britain’s former prince Andrew has moved from his luxury home in Windsor to a royal estate in eastern England, the BBC reported on Tuesday, as he faces renewed scrutiny over his links to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The ex-royal, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has come under fresh pressure to explain his appearance in the latest batch of documents released by the US Justice Department (DOJ) in connection with Epstein.

According to the BBC, Andrew, 65, left Royal Lodge on Monday. Buckingham Palace declined to confirm the report when contacted by AFP.

He had lived at the property near Windsor Castle with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, for the past two decades, the broadcaster said.

Andrew is now staying in a temporary residence on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, the BBC reported. The Sun tabloid said he is expected to move into a permanent home on the estate, Marsh Farm, once renovation work is completed.

Pressure on the former royal — the younger brother of King Charles III — has intensified since his name appeared in newly released Epstein-related files published by the DOJ on Friday.

The documents include photographs of the then prince kneeling over a woman lying on the ground, as well as emails inviting Epstein to Buckingham Palace for “private” talks.

The revelations prompted Prime Minister Keir Starmer to say Andrew should give evidence before the US Congress about what he knows of Epstein’s crimes.

A second alleged Epstein victim has claimed, through her lawyer, that the American financier sent her to Britain in 2010 to have sex with Andrew at Royal Lodge.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

In 2022, he paid a multimillion-pound settlement to another Epstein accuser, Virginia Giuffre, without admitting guilt. Giuffre died by suicide last year.

Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 over his alleged links to Epstein, who died by suicide in prison that year while awaiting trial on charges of sex crimes against minors.
