Drones struck a fuel tank and sparked a fire at Kuwait International Airport, the Gulf state’s civil aviation authority reported on Wednesday, saying there were no casualties.
Citing preliminary information, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said in a statement online that the attack caused only “limited” damage.
“The relevant authorities immediately implemented the approved emergency procedures,” and firefighters were deployed to bring the blaze under control, said agency spokesman Abdullah Al-Rajhi.
Kuwait International Airport has been targeted several times since the regional war began on 28 February, following strikes on Iran by Israel and the United States.
On 14 March, the civil aviation authority said an attack involving “several drones” struck the airport’s radar system, with no casualties reported.
Fuel tanks at the airport were also hit on 8 March, while an earlier strike on a passenger terminal left several people lightly injured and caused some damage.
