Iran has released a revised official death toll from its recent conflict involving Israel and the United States, stating that at least 3,375 people were killed during the war period.

The update was provided on Monday by Abbas Masjedi, head of the country’s Legal Medicine Organisation, according to reports carried by the judiciary-linked Mizan news agency and other state media outlets.

Abbas Masjedi said the identification process is nearly complete, with only four of the deceased still unidentified. However, the figures did not provide a clear breakdown separating civilian deaths from military or security personnel, leaving uncertainty about the full composition of casualties.

According to the data released, the total number of fatalities includes 2,875 men and 496 women. The report also noted that 383 of the dead were children aged 18 years or younger, highlighting the impact of the conflict on non-combatants.

The announcement comes amid ongoing questions about the extent of destruction caused by sustained strikes on Iranian territory, including attacks on military installations, infrastructure, and other strategic sites during the hostilities.

Analysts say the lack of distinction between civilian and security force deaths makes it difficult to independently assess the humanitarian toll of the conflict.

Observers have also pointed out that the scale of casualties suggests heavy bombardment across multiple regions, though details regarding specific locations and circumstances of deaths have not been fully disclosed by Iranian authorities.

The revised figures are expected to intensify international scrutiny over the conflict’s humanitarian consequences, as well as renewed calls for transparency regarding casualty reporting from all parties involved.
